MOST CRINGE-WORTHY MOMENTS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL

 

Secondary school life in Nigeria is its own special experience – full of drama, stress, and plenty of embarrassing moments. No matter how careful you are everyone has at least one embarrassing memory that makes them wish the ground could just open up and swallow them. Let’s dive into some of the embarrassing moments in secondary school and why it’s something only true Naija students can relate to.  

1. Who can answer this question?...... and it’s you!: There’s nothing worse than zoning out in class and suddenly hearing your name. With the entire class staring at you waiting for you to drop some wisdom. But you don’t even know what the question was!       
2.  Trying to look cool and slipping and falling in front of the class: Maybe you’re walking into class, trying to look calm and collected then you accidentally miss a step or trip on your own leg and you fall in front of the entire class. Before you know it everyone’s laughing at you, and the worst part is they’ll keep reminding you of it till graduation.
3. Reading out loud and getting stuck on a simple word: There’s nothing like reading in front of the class thinking you’re doing great and then…. you get stuck on a word. Maybe it’s something simple like “statistics” but you end up saying, “sasistics” and the whole class bursts out laughing and you’re left looking like an idiot.
4. Pretending to listen in class and the teacher calls your name: You're pretending to listen in class, nodding like you understand the topic and making eye contact with the teacher show they don't think you're not listening. Then suddenly the teacher asks you a question, and your brain goes on vacation 😶. You confidently stand up, but the answer that comes out of your mouth makes zero sense and the entire class erupts with laughter 🤣.
5. Shouting an answer and getting it wrong: Maybe you're in math class and the teacher asks a question. You're feeling super confident that you know the answer, so before anyone else can respond, you shout the answer to the teacher's question. The class goes silent then it turns out that you're completely.....wrong 😳.
6.  Telling a joke and laughing alone: You crack a joke in the middle of class expecting everyone to crack up. But instead the room goes silent, and you're just left laughing at your own joke 😳. Meanwhile the rest of the class is looking at you like " what was that?".
