NO AESTHETIC, NO PROBLEM

Lately, it feels like everyone has an aesthetic—soft girl πŸ’…, baddieπŸ’€, tomboy😎—and all of that. It’s like the whole world got the idea that having a perfectly crafted look is a must. I won't lie though, they all look really cool—whether it’s the light shades and oversized sweaters of the Soft Girl aesthetic or the bold makeup and high pointy boots of the Baddie look πŸ”₯. Everyone's got their thing meanwhile, I'm here... in my confused closet full of mismatched clothes.

For a while, I tried to force myself into one of those aesthetics. I spent hours scrolling through Pinterest boards, trying to decide if I could pull off the “soft girl” look or if I should try out the "baddie" look. And guess what, none of them worked. As soon as I thought I had something going, I would wake up the next day feeling completely blah πŸ˜’.

And just in case you're not familiar with these aesthetics, here's a breakdown. There's the:

  • Soft Girl: All about appearing gentle and sweet—both in personality and in style. It’s filled with light colors like light pink, lavender, and baby blue. The clothes are comfortable and cute, with oversized sweaters, mini skirts, and accessories like heart-shaped earrings πŸ’– or butterfly hair clips. It's all about sweet and feminine vibes πŸ’‹.

  • Tomboy: This is a blend of masculine and feminine styles. It’s not about rejecting femininity, but it's about prioritizing comfort, and a sense of effortless cool.Tomboy outfits include loose-fitting clothes like oversized hoodies, graphic tees, and cargo pants or boyfriend jeans. Sneakers, baseball caps, and jackets are common. It’s a style that’s sporty, casual, and effortless which emphasizes on neutral or dark colors. Accessories are usually kept simple—like beanies, backpacks, and maybe a watch or a chain—nothing too flashy.

  • Baddie: The Baddie aesthetic is all about tight-fitting black dresses, crop tops, bold makeup, and  ripped jeans. You’ll usually see bold brows, glossy lips, and dramatic eyeliner. Their outfits tend to be form-fitting and stylish—like crop tops, high-waisted jeans, and cool jackets. It's about looking fierce 😈, confident and powerful πŸ’€.

The thing is, I don't fit into any of these aesthetics and there's nothing wrong with that. Not having a specific aesthetic isn't the end of the world and it can actually be enjoyable. You get to combine clothing, and wear whatever makes you comfortable instead of sticking with a particular style.

And let’s be real—half the time, those perfect Pinterest aesthetics are more about the filter and the angle than the actual outfit. Social media makes it easy to think that everyone has it all figured out, but the truth is that most people are still confused and at the end of the day, your aesthetic is whatever you decide it is, even if it's just a combination of random clothes.
