SOCIAL MEDIA VS. REALITY: WHAT YOU DON'T SEE
So, I was scrolling through Instagram the other day, and I had a realization: Social media is basically a "best shot“ of life, with filters. But what we never see is the awkward, messed-up reality behind those “perfect” posts.
Honestly, social media can be crazy π΅. It's like everyone is living such perfect lives, but then it hits you and you're like... wait, this can't be real.
In case you don't know what I'm talking about. Let's break it down:
#1. The “I Woke Up Like This” Selfie πΈ
You know those posts where someone looks absolutely flawless at 7 AM? With perfectly messy hair, glowing skin, and no sign of drool on their face. Meanwhile, when I roll out of bed, I somehow end up looking like I was just in a fight with my pillow, with my hair looking like I had just been electrocuted. Those photos are probably taken after 30 minutes of touch-ups and some filters.
#2. Group Pics π―
You know, the one where everyone's holding smoothies and smiling as if they're auditioning for a toothpaste commercial. It’s like every group of friends is out there living their best lives, always together, always happy. But they never show the flawed stuff like the awkward silence, inside jokes you don’t understand, or the constant fighting.
# 3. Flawless Selfies π€³
Filters, angles, lighting, and all of that. Nobody looks that good in real life. But on social media? Everyone’s a model. The thing is, everyone wants to look like they’ve got their lives together... even when they don’t.
#4. “Productivity” Posts π
The perfectly organized desk with coffee, notebooks, and a “productive vibes” caption? Meanwhile, I'm struggling to get out of bed, forgetting half my to-do list, and panicking about everything I didn't do the other day.
Social media only shows the best bits, not the awkward moments or embarrassing incidents. So if you think your life isn’t perfect, the thing is—nobody’s is π. So just accept it the way it is.
